From the earliest infection by the tubercle bacillus it is more or less disturbed in its action, and as the focus of infection grows larger the effect on the heart becomes greater. The deleterious influences which react on the heart are many and from varied sources. The heart problem increases in complexity as well as in importance as the disease advances in severity.
