The authors are professors of internal medicine at the University of Bonn.General principles of clinical measurement and basic statistical methods are presented in the first segment, and appropriate tables are appended. The larger segment gives applications of these principles to the evaluation of treatment of various diseases and symptoms. Some useful examples of therapeutic record forms and FORTRAN (Formula Translating System) computer programs are included. Although an international bibliography is drawn upon, the authors fail to cite some of the most instructive therapeutic studies, either as exemplary or for methodologic criticism. For example, the section on tuberculosis lacks any mention of the US Veterans Administration-Armed Forces cooperative studies SN - 0003-9926 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archinte.1969.00300190128027 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinte.1969.00300190128027 ER -
