This book presents his proposals for taking a closer look at cancer investigation in the hope of achieving more effective implementation of current research aimed at the cure of cancer. He emphasizes the need for reappraisal of attitudes toward cancer research and reorganization of this effort and its support. The ultimate national goal becomes the cure or control of cancer. This is to be given top priority by the federal government and accomplished with the least possible delay by the medical profession.In reviewing a number of promising leads, emphasis is placed on those (in the author's opinion) that are not being pursued with appropriate vigor while offering promise of yielding better and quicker solutions to the cancer problem.
