TY - JOUR T1 - INtroduction to neuropathology. AU - Buchana D Y1 - 1969/04/01 N1 - 10.1001/archinte.1969.00300140126046 JO - Archives of Internal Medicine SP - 480 EP - 480 VL - 123 IS - 4 N2 - Designed to function as a combined textbook and atlas of neuropathology, this profusely illustrated volume is organized in three parts: (1) "Cellular Neuropathology"; (2) "Tissue Neuropathology"; (3) "Regional and Correlative Pathology." There is also an 82-page appendix consisting of 21 case studies. The authors recommend their work as a "preliminary guide for students." One wonders if the $29.50 price tag on a book covering so specialized a field might severely limit its appeal to this traditionally impecunious audience. The size of the volume may also intimidate the less-enthusiastic student, but fear is unwarranted. The text is extremely readable, lucid, and concise, and more than half the pages are filled with photographs and drawings. Most are of good quality and adequately illustrate descriptions in the text.Although this volume fulfills its stated goal most admirably, it should be emphasized that it is not a reference work on neuropathology.
