TY - JOUR T1 - DIseases of the liver and biliary system. It is the most comprehensive discussion of liver and biliary tract disease currently available. It embraces all aspects: etiology, pathology, clinical manifestations, and laboratory. Profuse black and white illustrations and strategically scattered color plates dramatize important items of pathological conditions, but the sparsity of electron photomicrographs (except for two plates delineating the normal human liver) is a minor disappointment. Radio scintograms (including a colored fold-out) illustrate areas where this technique is helpful. The strength of this book lies in the orderly organization of data, presented in comprehensible, literate prose. It is current (updated since 1966), and the well-selected reference citations following each section reveal the international breadth of the author's grasp of hepatology. An expanded chapter on drug effects in liver disease reflects contemporary interest in this area. The marvelously euphonius SN - 0003-9926 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archinte.1969.00300110106023 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinte.1969.00300110106023 ER -
