N2  - The explosive developments in genetics of the past decade have served to give understanding to the confusing melange of clinical material seen by those interested in abnormal sexual development. Techniques that are now readily available allow the clinician to approach the patient with the possibility of something more than prognostic statements. No more lucid guide through the complexities of the differential diagnosis of abnormalities of the sexual apparatus is obtainable than this small volume. It is as important to be aware of what this book is not as it is to recognize its virtues. No attempt was made to exhaust the topic, nor to circumscribe all possible changes by describing every case extant.
