The first part of the book and several reference chapters deal with biochemical and physiologic descriptions and relate these to the later chapters which deal with the general areas of disease.Dr. Bland goes on to point out in the preface that medicine is a polyscience, and for the investigator to carry out research, he must be especially trained in at least one of the medical sciences.
