The author lays no claims to a comprehensive discussion of the entire field. Instead he has simplified the basic concepts by clear description and excellent and understandable illustrations to the point that the beginner can apply his knowledge clinically after thoughtful study.My primary interest in the book is its usefulness for medical students, and I am pleased to say that it serves admirably. The addition of a chapter on spatial vectorcardiography is good. I suspect, however, if the author were writing his book "from scratch" today this chapter would be better integrated as a means for understanding the behavior of the cardiac electrical field as viewed by the current lead systems.
