TY - JOUR T1 - Gestation: Transactions of the fourth conference, march 5, 6, 7, 1957. AU - Keettel WC Y1 - 1959/01/01 N1 - 10.1001/archinte.1959.00270010172029 JO - A.M.A. Archives of Internal Medicine SP - 166 EP - 166 VL - 103 IS - 1 N2 - This book represents the transactions of the fourth conference dealing with Gestation. Four subjects are presented: "The Physiology of Fetal Fluids," "The Origin of Amniotic Fluid," "The Morphologic Manifestation of the Uptake of Materials by the Yolk Society of the Pregnant Rabbit," and "The Development of Fetal Immunity."The method of presentation of material is unique. The essayist does not present a paper but rather highlights, in an informal manner, some of the more interesting aspects of his research. During this presentation there are frequent interruptions by the participants, in the form of questions, criticisms, and comments. The style of publication of the "Transactions" follows directly this method of presentation at the meeting. The "Transactions" will be of limited value, but those interested in the research aspects of this field of reproduction will find the material very interesting and stimulating.
