Here is a work at once practical and exact, grown out of the constant observation of a skilled physiotherapist at one of the best infantile paralysis clinics in the country. At this clinic the author was guided in her work by the late Dr. Robert W. Lovett, to whom the treatise is respectfully dedicated. The foreword is by I. Playfair McMurrich, who points out that the method utilized in determining the exact function of the individual muscles and groups is superior to the anatomic and electrical methods, since, as Miss Wright emphasizes, it tells us not "what a muscle may do but what a muscle does do."
