TY - JOUR T1 - PRoactive measures needed for health care reform AU - Feldman DS Y1 - 1999/06/28 N1 - JO - Archives of Internal Medicine SP - 1370 EP - 1371 VL - 159 IS - 12 N2 - Since the publication of our study, Kao and colleagues4 published a patient survey that indicated that patients' trust in physicians was somewhat less in patients in managed health care programs. At least some of the difference in patients' trust was due to physicians' behavior. Many of the views expressed by the respondents to our survey suggested that practicing in managed care systems could affect physician behavior. Market forces in medicine are changing the practice of medicine. As Dr Erwin indicates, physicians need to monitor and modify these changes through broad societal forums.
