TY - JOUR T1 - LAck of evaluation of the effects of single preventive measures for falling—reply AU - de Vries OJ, Peeters G, Lips P Y1 - 2011/01/24 N1 - 10.1001/archinternmed.2010.507 JO - Archives of Internal Medicine SP - 181 EP - 182 VL - 171 IS - 2 N2 - Van Hateren et al have taken the treatment of postural hypotension as an example. Postural hypotension has been recognized as a risk factor associated with falls.2 Some evidence exists that compression therapy may favorably influence the severity and symptoms of postural hypotension.3 Discontinuation of drugs that increase fall risk may also reduce the severity of postural hypotension.4 The effect on fall risk of these interventions aimed at postural hypotension has not been determined. This is also true for interventions aimed at most other fall risk factors. SN - 0003-9926 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archinternmed.2010.507 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinternmed.2010.507 ER -
