TY - JOUR T1 - HIgh or low doses of ppis for patients with peptic ulcer bleeding?—reply AU - Wang C, Ma M, Fang C, Chen S, Yen Z Y1 - 2010/10/11 N1 - 10.1001/archinternmed.2010.354 JO - Archives of Internal Medicine SP - 1699 EP - 1700 VL - 170 IS - 18 N2 - We thank all the correspondents for their comments. Calvet et al and Lin raised concerns about the inclusion of the trials containing low-risk patients. In our subgroup analysis,1 there were 792 high-risk patients, with 401 and 391 patients in high-dose and non–high-dose groups, respectively. Although the confidence intervals were wide, no significant difference was noted in rebleeding, surgical intervention, or mortality. We still regarded it as a hint that high-dose IV PPIs might not outweigh non–high-dose PPIs.
