The spine looks fine, but the scan picks up a totally unexpected kidney mass. It is suggestive of cancer. The patient is hospitalized for 4 days and undergoes a partial nephrectomy. He feels like he was hit by a truck. And the tumor? Not cancer. It was a case of mistaken identity.
