For decades, our organizations have enforced strict policies for preventing undue influence of industry. As the article acknowledges, the ACC and AHA refined disclosure policies in late 2009 to require even more stringent management of relationships with industry, in alignment with the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS).
