AB In the struggle against tuberculosis there are many indications that the lay public is getting enlightened more rapidly than the profession, and the one reason for this is probably the fact that a comprehensive book, dealing with all phases of the subject, was not accessible in English. Dr. Bonney has changed this state of affairs very much, for although he says in the preface that the work was not intended to be exhaustive, it is so nearly so that the title is somewhat misleading, and the descriptions of the localizations of tuberculosis outside of the lung are in many cases adequate for other than ``complications'' of pulmonary tuberculosis. The general plan is a good one and is well carried out. Historical review, biologic features of the bacillus tuberculosis, methods of infection, clinical phenomena, diagnosis and treatment, are all discussed in a manner that is almost always satisfactory
