I read with great interest your article "Myelofibrosis and Renal Osteodystrophy" (Weinberg et al: Am J Med 63:755-764, 1977). Unfortunately, when we received that journal, our manuscript had already been sent to the editor of the Archives, so we could not include your publication in the references. We have also had some patients with splenic hyperactivity and, indeed, the incidence of severe hyperparathyroidism seems more important in this group than in the dialysis population as a whole. However, this finding was not analyzed statistically.I should like to learn about the experience of other groups on this exciting subject.
