AB Bacterial endocarditis developed following dental manipulation in a child with mitral valve prolapse. Antibiotic prophylaxis is recommended for patients with this cardiac abnormality who undergo procedures that may be associated with bacteremia.(Arch Intern Med 139:1191-1192, 1979)
