This is an unusual domestic presentation of filariasis, an endemic tropical disease that is often asymptomatic and undiagnosed. Prognosis for recovery is excellent with the diethylcarbamazine citrate treatment indicated for hemoparasitemia.(Arch Intern Med 139:1057-1059, 1979)
