The truly great men who have received the Kober Medal have all said modestly that they did not deserve it. No one agreed with them. For myself, I can only say that, deserve it or not, I am very happy and proud to accept this distinguished medal from the Association and very grateful to Dick Richards for his generous presentation.Before I engage in the theme of my response, I want to mention three remarkable men who greatly influenced my life.
