RT Journal A1 Arnold HL, Jr. T1 APpendage tumors of the skin. JF Archives of Internal Medicine JO Archives of Internal Medicine YR 1969 FD September 1 VO 124 IS 3 SP 388 OP 388 DO 10.1001/archinte.1969.00300190128026 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinte.1969.00300190128026 AB This beautifully produced atlas presents a review of all relevant publications regarding 31 appendage tumors of the skin, benign and malignant. The 75 numbered figures include more than 100 clear reproductions of electron micrographs, many of them measuring 6 × 8 inches; magnifications range from 2,000 to 560,000. There are plenty of clinical photographs of nearly every tumor discussed and numerous light micrographs as well. The text discusses the natural history of the tumors, differential diagnosis, and their histologic configuration. The emphasis, however, is on histopathology. There are nearly 200 references to the literature; 27 are publications by the authors. An appendix of 16 pages discusses such technical terms as basement membrane, collagen, desmosome, histiocyte, and so on, with illustrations. The paper is glossy; margins are wide; binding, attractive; type, large; and reproductions, clear. I found no typographical errors. The book will be of great value as a reference source
