AB This is a well-written, brief book. In it are discussed the anatomical, chemical, physiological, medical, and surgical aspects of diseases of the adrenal gland that are likely to be treated surgically. The data and advice of the authors are based on their own extensive experience at the New York Hospital and on the frequently cited information from reports of others. The defects in the content of the book are minor.The information is well presented and sound. However, in this reviewer's opinion, the book will not be of substantial value to those for whom (according to the preface) it was designed, namely, general surgeons, urologists, neurosurgeons, pediatric surgeons, internists, pathologists, endocrinologists, and others concerned with the welfare of patients with adrenal disease. Similar information exists in numerous other books and articles. It is difficult to identify a practical reason for bringing such information together in a single volume.
