AB This collection contains expanded manuscripts of papers presented at a special conference on the electrophysiology of the heart held in Tokyo in September 1965 under the chairmanship of Chandler M. Brooks. Toyomi Sano, the organizer of this conference, is an expert in clinical electrocardiography as well as the study of myocardial potentials responsible for the electrocardiogram. The results of this conference form the groundwork without which no one who desires deeper understanding of the ECG and its clinical significance can hope to succeed.The first part of the book contains five papers on the ultrastructure of the myocardium and conduction system, which form the basis for understanding myocardial action potentials discussed in the second half of the book.
