Although to some this subject may seem limited in scope, one which could easily be covered in 217 pages, this book falls far short of completeness for the specialist.Its chief usefulness, therefore, will be to those who are not expert. It does have numerous references, and it may well serve as a guide to the literature. As is almost always the case in attempting to cover such an area, a number of minor discrepancies have crept into the presentation. Many would not agree that corticotropin (ACTH) is more effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis than corticosteroids, although a reference to this fact is listed in the bibliography.It is also apparent that the author works under a socialized system in which the patient is
