It was discovered that about 5.4 million Americans have visual impairments; 8.5 million, hearing difficulties; 1.3 million, speech defects. There were about 1.5 million cases of paralysis, 2 million patients with missing extremities, and 17.7 million had orthopedic defects. This is a detailed analysis, classified according to demographic variables.
