AB FOREIGN LANGUAGE REVIEWSMertz's little monograph on the hormonal treatment of malignancies is a useful review for German speaking general practitioners and students. It presents current practices in the management of inoperable neoplasms of the breast, the prostate, and the uterus in a concise manner. The space devoted to these three malignancies is uneven, 40 of the total 67 pages is devoted to managment of carcinoma of the breast. The material presented can be found in many a review article or up-to-date textbooks. It seems doubtful that this booklet would find a large audience in this country.
