AB This is an abbreviated British rendition of acute medical emergency management. It offers a few less familiar concepts: heroin as an alternative therapy to morphine in relief of myocardial infarction; hypertensive encephalopathy is managed by intravenous administration of hexamethonium followed by pentolinium; guanethidine, trimethaphan (Arfond) camsylate, and methyldopa are mentioned later; diazoxide does not place. It is tidy and handy but has no particular distinction over others in the field.
