AB Every pathologist needs at his desk a definitive, concise, up-to-date monograph on every important subject in pathology. To a large extent, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Atlas of Tumor Pathology series of 40 fascicles has served this important purpose for the past 20 years on the subject of tumors. These monographs, always written by top people in the field, have set standards for diagnosis and nomenclature in tumor pathology for much of the medical world. Now, under sponsorship of the American Cancer Society, the National Cancer Institute, and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and under the auspices of Universities Associated for Research and Education in Pathology, Inc., a new series of fascicles is begun.It is especially fitting that the first fascicle of this new series is Tumors of the Soft Tissues by the late Arthur Purdy Stout, MD, and Raffaele Lattes, MD.
