AB The third edition has appeared on schedule in accordance with the publisher's established policy of biannual revisions. It is approximately 15 per cent longer than the first edition which appeared in 1956. Like the original, it is extensively illustrated by electrocardiograms and line drawings, but despite this it is quite inexpensive since it is paperbound. This is a real advantage for the student or beginner in electrocardiography for whom the book was designed.Like so many other books on clinical electrocardiography, this one attempts to make the subject simple and practical. In this regard it succeeds, probably in greater measure than most books of its kind. But to achieve its objective it sacrifices precision in some areas, as do the other books, and at times actually imparts misinformation as the price of brevity. The most notable examples of this are encountered in the chapters on electrophysiology and on accelerated conduction.
