AB The role of arthropods in the causation of and more especially in the transmission of infection is well known to all informed persons; however, the identification of the responsible arthropod in such roles is often a most difficult task requiring extensive knowledge of arthropod anatomy, biological variation, arthropod ecology, and diligent use of the microscope.The author of this book has endeavored to bring together in one concise volume useful keys to the various groups of medically important arthropods. Numerous drawings by Mr. Catts are included to aid the student and other users of the volume in interpreting the various keys. Much credit is due the illustrator for the clear and accurate drawings which add so much to the usefulness of this book.The entomological keys are taken from and/or adapted from many sources. The author is to be commended for his diligent effort to present the most recent changes
