It is a beautiful book—well conceived, well executed, and well presented. All aspects of iron metabolism are covered in careful detail, and the information relative to this field is brought up to date. Each paper, in addition to presenting an excellent review of its subject matter, contains an extensive bibliography. This is an excellent source book for all those interested in iron metabolism, whether from the laboratory or the clinical viewpoint. It is unfortunate that the book is trilingual, some of the papers being in German, others in English, and still others in French.
