RT Journal A1 Cole RP T1 COncerns about heparin therapy for hypertriglyceridemia—reply JF Archives of Internal Medicine JO Archives of Internal Medicine YR 2010 FD January 11 VO 170 IS 1 SP 109 OP 109 DO 10.1001/archinternmed.2009.462 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinternmed.2009.462 AB Dr Whayne is also concerned that use of UFH therapy may not be effective in selected patients with HTG in association with lipoprotein phenotypes I and V and in patients with chronic renal failure. While successful treatment of severe HTG in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis cannot be predicted in all cases, serial measurements of serum TG concentration will be useful in deciding whether to continue or stop heparin administration.
