RT Journal A1 Shadmi E, Zisberg A T1 IN-hospital mobility and length of stay JF Archives of Internal Medicine JO Archives of Internal Medicine YR 2011 FD July 25 VO 171 IS 14 SP 1298 OP 1299 DO 10.1001/archinternmed.2011.321 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinternmed.2011.321 AB We used a similar method to the one developed by Brown and colleagues2 and measured mobility (using patient self-report) during hospital stays for acute illness among older adults in general medical units. In addition to frequency of ambulation and transfer, the original scale was modified to include an evaluation of distance (classified as inside or outside the patient's hospital room). Scores ranged from 0 to 14, with higher scores indicating higher mobility.
