RT Journal A1 Zhang Y, Zhou L, Gellad W T1 THe true cost of discounted medication programs—reply JF Archives of Internal Medicine JO Archives of Internal Medicine YR 2011 FD September 26 VO 171 IS 17 SP 1595 OP 1596 DO 10.1001/archinternmed.2011.412 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinternmed.2011.412 AB First, if we had data, we would try to quantify the traveling costs. However, traveling costs can be easily overestimated because individuals are unlikely to go to WalMart or Target just to pick up $4 drugs; they go there for other things or stop over on their way. In addition, traveling costs will not be a main concern as more stores (eg, Walgreens, CVS, local regional grocery stores) offer low-cost generics and mail-order option of these programs becomes available.2
