RT Journal A1 Chou C T1 Nice work if you can get it: Comment on “too little? too much? primary care physicians' views on us health care” JF Archives of Internal Medicine JO Archives of Internal Medicine YR 2011 FD September 26 VO 171 IS 17 SP 1585 OP 1586 DO 10.1001/archinternmed.2011.438 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archinternmed.2011.438 AB Primary care physicians have long expressed dismay at the increasing number of tasks to accomplish for patients in apparently shorter periods. Because it can feel more efficient to order tests, starting with minimally invasive procedures but inevitably escalating to more invasive ones that incur increasing levels of risk, it can be easy to jump to diagnostic conclusions without fully attending to the patient's history. Unfortunate results commonly ensue, as highlighted in a Perspective included in this issue of the Archives.1
