To the Editor.
—Congratulations to Guilleminault and Mondini1 for their article in the July issue of the Archives. I have seen a patient who also developed severe daytime sleepiness after recovering from an acute case of infectious mononucleosis. My patient had tests consistent with a diagnosis of chronic infectious mononucleosis. The authors did not list any tests to show whether their patients had chronic mononucleosis.2 Were the IgG antiviral capsid antigen, anti—early antigen, and anti—Epstein-Barr Virus— associated nuclear antigen titers elevated? Was IgM antiviral capsid antigen not measurable?
