—We thank Dr Cornbleet for her comments. We do not deny the usefulness of MCH and MCHC in quality control. Quality control is certainly an essential and critical part of all laboratory tests. However, the fact is that quality control is a technical task that should not concern the clinician. The various quality control techniques are strictly an internal problem involving laboratory personnel. Our point is that MCH and MCHC almost never offer useful information to the clinician.
