The person selected to do this job should have three qualifications. First, his knowledge of the subject should be relatively superficial. Otherwise, he might be offended by the absurdity of summarizing a, meeting in such a short time. Second, he should be glib. Generalities should be phrased so felicitously as to create the illusion of substance. Third, he should be able to stay awake during the entire proceedings. Although I never doubted having the first two qualifications, I was pleased to find that I had the third one. Not only the pressure of this task but also the high quality of the presentations prevented any lapses of attention.
