This monograph is a review of the application of ultrasonic irradiation to pituitary ablation by one of the world's most experienced groups from the University of Padua. In view of the recent publication of the proceedings of the January 1973 National Institutes of Health (NIH) Conference on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pituitary Tumors, the arrival of this book is especially timely, since ultrasonic irradiation of the pituitary was a topic not covered by the NIH conference.
