ABSTRACT

This book consists of 58 recently presented or published articles selected by the two editors from the surgical literature. Their purpose has been to focus the reader's attention on new subjects, areas of change, and advances in surgery. The papers represent the work of 69 senior contributors. The subject matter is arranged under 24 different surgical subjects and anatomical areas. Each article, in addition to its own list of references, is followed by an overview from one of the authors and by annotated bibliographies of related reports. The type and style of printing varies from chapter to chapter, depending on the type that was used for the original publication. The book is also available in paperback editions if desired.
