This is the seventh edition of General Urology. Although originally intended for the medical student and nonurological practitioner, so much new material has been added, such as in "Radioisotope Kidney" studies, that the book must be considered for general use by the urologist.
If there is a criticism, it is the wealth of "pearls" contained as one sentence in a paragraph. One unfamiliar with urology may miss these, but the urologist will spot them and find the up-to-date, extensive bibliography useful to fill out the information.
The book is well illustrated and contains many "tricks of the trade." All aspects of urology, medical and surgical, are covered, some in considerable detail. As an introduction to urology, it should be very useful to the student and nonurologist. As a reference and refresher, it could be helpful to resident and practitioner alike.
