This 25th annual volume reviewing the current literature in neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry covers articles which appeared in 1969, although there are some papers published in 1968. Editor E. A. Spiegel of Temple University School of Medicine, a distinguished neurological investigator, is capably assisted by an editorial board and a large number of contributors responsible for individual sections.
The format is identical to previous editions in which there are divisions concerned with the basic neurological sciences, clinical neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry. However, no attempt is made to cover the entire literature in each of these major disciplines. Thus, the neurosurgical section deals only with peripheral nerves, spinal cord, central nervous system trauma, and brain tumors, all of which have been reviewed in previous editions.
