Medical secretary Helen R. Strand has made a unique contribution to medicine. There was some difficulty encountered in wrestling her book away from departmental medical secretaries who assured the reviewer it was the best thing on the subject of medical terminology they had encountered. Clear definitions of the more common words in the medical lexicon with its potpourri of Greek, Latin, Arabic, and Swahili will be found here. Anatomic systems of the body are reviewed with competent anatomic drawings and lucid descriptions. Miss Strand is to be congratulated. My copy has disappeared again, but I am positive it will materialize on my secretary's desk between Webster and Dorland.
