ABSTRACT

The 24 papers dedicated to Professor Duchosal came from many lands where his pupils now are active. Eight are Swiss, one both Swiss and Bostonian, three each from the USA and France, with Argentina, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, England, Germany, Holland, Italy, Mexico, and Portugal each represented by one report. There are as many as 12 figures in some papers, and the printing is excellent. Summaries of all essays are in English, French, and German.

These will vary in interest for the internist, but most of them will be useful for those who record the heart's action currents and sounds. Mounsey's analysis of the apex beat in relation to the phonocardiogram is a classic of concise and clear reporting. The correlation of murmurs and physiologic characteristics of the lesions in pulmonic stenosis is equally valuable, as presented in English by Liquime and Polis, of Brussels.
