In the preface to this new book the authors state, "The real purpose of this monograph is to provide a brief introduction to the field of arteriography for the community radiologist and other physicians who feel the need of initiating such procedures in their own hospitals."
The monograph is brief, too brief to be more than a scratch at the surface in many aspects. Techniques of catheter making, arterial puncture, and catheter replacement, and the general mechanics of catheterization and arteriography are too lightly touched upon to make the text useful as a teaching source. Consequently, the monograph is merely a report of arteriographic activities at the authors' own community hospital. While these activities are commendable for a smaller community, they are not necessarily the meat of a new text.
The impression gained from reading the book is that arteriography tyros will not gain significantly in experience from a reading,
