Radiology of the Digestive System should succeed admirably in presenting to the physician and surgeon some understanding of the all important role of radiology in diagnosis of diseases of the digestive system. The text is concise and well written, the illustrations are appropriately chosen, plentiful in number, and are all of excellent quality.
From the opening chapter on principles of radiology in general to the last chapter on the "Acute Abdomen" the book moves along rapidly over the important points in the field. There are few journeys up side paths or delving into the depths, and to the experienced radiologist or gastroenterologist the treatment of many topics will therefore seem inadequate or superficial. But this is not a valid criticism since the book is intended for the generalist, not the specialist. An exception to this is the strong appeal it should have for the young, beginning radiologist.
