In this atlas of hemodynamics the authors have collected exemplary records of a variety of acquired and congenital cardiac lesions. For the most part, the illustrations contain simultaneous pressure and electrocardiographic records. In many, a simultaneous phonocardiographic record is also present. Selective angiocardiograms and photographs of gross pathology are also abundantly provided. The format of the book is so arranged that a page of text faces each page of illustration.
In thorough and painstaking fashion, the authors have depicted normal and pathological events associated with the heart beat. They have not neglected to introduce these illustrative studies with a consideration of the recording techniques, and of the design of the intracardiac microphone.
