This second edition of Lord Brain's smaller book is a technical improvement on the original, which appeared only four years ago. It is not to be confused with his larger and more comprehensive Diseases of the Nervous System. The paper is now heavier so that the book is 10% thicker, but it still has the original number of pages. Photographic illustrations have been rather extensively altered and enhanced. Their quality is greatly improved.
The text itself is unchanged except in minor details. One might suggest that emphasis is at times misplaced, particularly since the author has intended to emphasize the commoner diseases.
