Dr. Reubi of Bern, Switzerland, evaluates the ability of the kidney to perform its function in both health and disease and has divided the book into two parts. The first deals with definition of renal clearances, the theoretical considerations, methods, and interpretations of these classical renal function tests. Part II is concerned with the clearance determinations in various renal diseases. The diseases and problems discussed in part II are glomerulonephritis, the nephrotic syndrome, amyloidosis, diabetic glomerulosclerosis, and toxemia pregnancy. Vascular diseases, pyelonephritis, acute renal failure, and various tubular syndromes are also discussed. The
