ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Fifth International Congress of Internal Medicine.  —The Fifth International Congress of Internal Medicine will be held in Philadelphia, April 23-26, 1958. Information regarding this meeting and The International Society of Internal Medicine may be obtained from Dr. Edward R. Loveland, 4200 Pine St., Philadelphia 4.This is the first meeting of the Society to be held in this country. Another is not likely to be held here for a decade. It was arranged after an invitation was officially extended by the American College of Physicians and is intended to encourage a greater participation of the American physicians in the International Society and to give foreign members a firsthand opportunity to learn more about American developments in medical sciences. In the past six months 1900 American physicians have joined the Society, which now numbers 4000 members, from 34 nations of the world.
